The division of theoretical physics at Bielefeld University (Germany) invites applications for a post-doctoral research position at the interface of quantum many-body theory, quantum information science, and nuclear physics. The successful candidate will work on developing and utilizing concepts of quantum information to advance ab-initio entanglement-driven descriptions of atomic nuclei. This can include the development of novel many-body methods for classical calculations as well as algorithms for quantum simulations of these systems. In addition to developing their own research the candidate will also have the opportunity to contribute to the supervision of bachelor, master or PhD students, if desired.

 

This is a full-time position, which will be initially funded for a period of two years starting in August 2024 or earlier.
