Dear nuclear physics colleagues,

We would like to bring to your attention an opportunity at the Institute of Cosmos Sciences of the University of Barcelona (ICCUB). Our Institute, a nationally recognized María de Maeztu Unit of Excellence in one of Europe’s most dynamic cities, is inviting outstanding senior researchers to join our academic community through the ICREA programme (https://www.icrea.cat/icrea-call). 

We are now looking for Expressions of Interest to this programme and we would welcome both theoretical and experimental profiles in nuclear physics. 

We attach to this email a document with details on this process, summarised here:

• Expressions of Interest: established researchers in Experimental Sciences with a strong international track record (typically 10+ years post-PhD experience). Applications from women are especially encouraged.   
• Research Focus: ICCUB hosts interdisciplinary fundamental research spanning nuclear physics, particle physics, quantum physics, cosmology, and high-energy astrophysics.
• Position Details: Permanent, full-time tenured positions as ICREA Research Professors based at ICCUB in Catalonia, Spain. 
• Deadline for ICCUB Endorsement: November 1, 2026 for full consideration.   

To apply, interested candidates must first contact a permanent ICCUB staff member as an internal sponsor. Javier Menéndez, Xavier Roca-Maza or Arnau Rios would be happy to assist in the process for experts in nuclear physics.
