The School of Physics at Peking University (PKU) invites applications for two postdoctoral positions in theoretical nuclear physics. 

 

One position focuses on ab initio nuclear theory (position A), and the other focuses on the interface of nuclear and particle physics (position B) to study physics beyond the Standard Model. The appointments are expected to begin in June 2026 or later (start dates are flexible). Successful candidates will work in the theoretical group of Professors Baishan Hu and Furong Xu.

  

Research areas:

- Nuclear forces derived from chiral effective field theory

- Ab initio nuclear theory for nuclear structure and reactions

- Ab initio nuclear theory applications to dark matter searches, neutrino physics, fundamental symmetries or nuclear astrophysics

 

Salary:

Competitive salary and benefits in accordance with Peking University postdoctoral policies

 

Qualifications:

- Ph.D. in theoretical physics or a closely related field

- For position A: strong background in many-body quantum theory

- For position B: experience in BSM physics (dark matter or neutrinos) is highly desirable
