Dear Colleagues and Friends,
We cordially invite you to participate in the 62nd International Winter Meeting on Nuclear Physics, which will take place from January 19 to 23, 2026, in Bormio, Italy. This is a long-standing conference, bringing together each year researchers and students from various fields of subatomic physics. Unlike many workshops, the International Winter Meetings in Bormio do not focus on a single topic.
Addressed topics include:
• Nuclear Structure and Nuclear Astrophysics
• Heavy Ion Physics
• Hadron Physics
• Particle Physics
• Applied Nuclear Physics
• Detectors and Future Projects
Following the tradition of this Winter Meeting, review talks by more senior speakers in the morning sessions will be followed by short contributions or poster presentations in the afternoon. We encourage senior scientists to support also the participation by junior group members. The familiar environment of the Bormio conference and the wide range of expertise showcased there is a unique opportunity for young scientists to make new connections and widen their scientific horizons.
Initiatives for Young Researchers
• Pre-conference School
To promote the participation of students and young researchers, a pre-conference school is organized on Sunday, 18 January 2026. Three topical lectures will be held, covering the basics of the main physics themes addressed at the conference. Students are asked to indicate their interest during registration.
• Student Fellowships
A limited number of fellowships will be awarded to outstanding students to cover accommodation and the conference fee. Students wishing to apply should register and send their application (cover letter, CV, and abstract in a single PDF file) to organizers@bormioconf.org by October 15th, 2025.
Registration and Important Deadlines
Due to the Milano–Cortina Winter Olympics in February 2026, the conference has been moved one week earlier than its traditional time slot at the end of January. Although the Olympics begin in February, hotel demand in the region is already exceptionally high. We therefore strongly encourage all participants to register as early as possible and to pay the deposit promptly after receiving confirmation from the hotel.
• October 15th, 2025 – Student fellowship application deadline
• November 2nd, 2025 – Registration and abstract submission
• November 14th, 2025 – Notification of abstract acceptance and accommodation assignment
• November 24th, 2025 – Conference fee payment deadline
• December 1st, 2025 – Deadline for hotel deposit payment

Conference Fees
• Senior Scientists: 250 €
• Students: 130 €
Participants will be asked to choose their preferred payment method (bank transfer or credit card) during registration. Payment instructions will be sent by email after registration. Please note: Cash payments at the conference desk will not be possible.
