Dear colleagues,

 

We are planning a training event for early-career scientist for the (northern hemisphere) summer, organized jointly between the International Research Network of Nuclear Astrophysics (IReNA) and the Ibero American Network of Nuclear Astrophysics (IANNA). Financial support is available to cover travel expenses for a number of participants, and we're looking forwards to receiving a good number of applications from students and postdocs of ALAFNA countries.

Open Questions and Research Tools in Nuclear Astrophysics: a combined Summer School and Hackathon

 

Registration is now open for the Open Questions and Research Tools in Nuclear Astrophysics hackathon and summer school. This is a training and professional development meeting for early-career researchers, which will take place from July 21st to 25th 2025 at the CMU Biological Station in Beaver Island, Michigan (USA).

 

A series of lectures will provide an overview of topics and open questions of current research in nuclear astrophysics. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with advanced research tools through a hackathon that will run concurrently to the school. Working in groups they will apply nuclear reactions models or astrophysical reaction networks to a nuclear astrophysics project. The CMU Biological Station, on the shores of Lake Michigan, offers an ideal setting for the meeting.

 

Travel support for some students and postdoctoral researcher participants will be available thanks to sponsorship by IReNA. The event is organized jointly with the Ibero American Network for Nuclear Astrophysics (IANNA).
