Dear colleague,

 

we cordially invite you to participate in the 45th Course of the International School/Workshop of Nuclear Physics on the topic: 

"Nuclei in the laboratory and in stars" 

 

The School/Workshop will be held in Erice, Sicily/Italy, from September 16 (arrival day) to September 22 (departure day), 2024. 

 

In the 45th course we intend to discuss the current status of the field of nuclear physics including invited lectures by international experts of the various subareas as well as invited and contributed talks by the participants. We aim to cover a broad range of topics to elucidate synergies and identify areas of future progress. These are:

 

Lattice QCD and light nuclei

Nuclear structure from chiral EFT interactions

Ab-initio methods for medium-mass nuclei

Single-particle and collective dynamics

Nuclear structure far from the line of stability

Nuclei as a laboratory for beyond the Standard Model physics

Neutron star matter

Nuclear synthesis in stars, supernovae, neutron star mergers and other cosmic events

 

Registration will open middle of February and is possible until July 1st on our webpage https://theorie.ikp.physik.tu-darmstadt.de/erice/2024/ 

 

There will be a conference fee of 900.- Euros, which covers all local costs for accommodation, food and social activities (excursion).Also included is transportation by car from Palermo or Trapani airport to Erice and back on September 16th and 22th (only). 

 

We offer a small number of student fellowships covering the conference fee. Details for application can be found on the webpage. 

Deadline is May 31st 2024.
