Details about the position can be found by following the link on the Theory Group web page: https://www.anl.gov/phy/theory where applications received by 23 December 2022 will receive our fullest consideration. We are seeking a diverse slate of candidates from any field in nuclear theory and particularly those candidates with a research program that has an overlap with existing and planned facilities, such as, ATLAS/FRIB, LANSCE, Jefferson Lab, and the Electron-Ion Collider. If you have...

---------- Forwarded message --------- De: < anuncios@anuncios.fisica.org.ar > Date: lun, 5 dic 2022 a las 22:50 Subject: seminario semanal - Física nuclear To: < mcarrillo@herrera.unt.edu.ar > Hola a Todos, les copio info del siguiente seminario saludos Rolo __________________________________ Dear Colleagues, Please join us for our next Rising Researchers seminar on Tuesday, December 6th at 10:30 AM Pacific Time by Shohini Bhattacharya - Brookhaven National Laboratory The seminar is fully virtual. Please find the Zoom link below. Title: A full tomographic picture of hadronic matter at the Electron-Ion Collider Abstract: It has been known since the 1930's that protons are not "point-like" elementary particles, but rather have a substructure. Today, we know from Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) that protons are made from quarks and gluons, with gluons being the elementary force carriers for strong interactions. Quarks and ...

Oferta de trabajo (no phd, no posdoc) - Física nuclear

The National Nuclear Data Center has two opportunities for scientists in nuclear reaction evaluations and research. In this role you will be expected to work on all aspects of the Evaluated Nuclear Data File (ENDF) and/or the EXFOR (EXchange FORmat) library.  ENDF is the most widely used low energy reaction database in nuclear applications, needed in reactor modeling and licensing, safeguards, shielding, space radiation effects, etc.  EXFOR is the premier database of experimental nuclear reaction data and provides the experimental grounding for the ENDF evaluations.  This work includes the compilation and evaluation of nuclear reaction and decay data, as well as experimental or theoretical research aligned with ENDF priorities. This position has a high level of interaction with an international and multicultural scientific community and takes place in a collaborative and collegial team environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities     Perform a criti...

Meeting on Nuclear Structure, Reactions, and Astrophysics

Last week I participated in the NSAC Town Hall meeting on Nuclear Structure, Reactions, and Astrophysics at Argonne National Laboratory. Several other members of the FRIB-TA were there too. Particularly notable was the participation by the FRIB-TA Bridge Faculty and Theory Fellows. These young scientists made excellent presentations in the Theory Working Group, the slides for which you can access here  ( https://indico.phy.anl.go v/event/22/page/63-nuclear-str ucture-reaction-theory-working -group ) . They also played a notable role in our construction of a list of the key scientific problems for our sub-field in the next decade  ( https://indico.phy.anl. gov/event/22/attachments/72/17 5/SummariesCombined_V6.pdf ). Our success over the past seven years was featured in Thomas Papenbrock’s opening talk  ( https://indico.phy.anl.go v/event/22/attachments/72/155/ ANL-Townhall-Papenbrock.pdf ) . And support for the Theory Alliance and all its activities was strong across the e...
