Oferta de trabajo (no phd, no posdoc) - Física nuclear

The National Nuclear Data Center has two opportunities for scientists in nuclear reaction evaluations and research. In this role you will be expected to work on all aspects of the Evaluated Nuclear Data File (ENDF) and/or the EXFOR (EXchange FORmat) library.  ENDF is the most widely used low energy reaction database in nuclear applications, needed in reactor modeling and licensing, safeguards, shielding, space radiation effects, etc.  EXFOR is the premier database of experimental nuclear reaction data and provides the experimental grounding for the ENDF evaluations.  This work includes the compilation and evaluation of nuclear reaction and decay data, as well as experimental or theoretical research aligned with ENDF priorities. This position has a high level of interaction with an international and multicultural scientific community and takes place in a collaborative and collegial team environment. Meeting on Nuclear Structure, Reactions, and Astrophysics

Last week I participated in the NSAC Town Hall meeting on Nuclear Structure, Reactions, and Astrophysics at Argonne National Laboratory. Several other members of the FRIB-TA were there too. Particularly notable was the participation by the FRIB-TA Bridge Faculty and Theory Fellows. These young scientists made excellent presentations in the Theory Working Group, the slides for which you can access here  ( https://indico.phy.anl.go v/event/22/page/63-nuclear-str ucture-reaction-theory-working -group ) . They also played a notable role in our construction of a list of the key scientific problems for our sub-field in the next decade  ( https://indico.phy.anl. gov/event/22/attachments/72/17 5/SummariesCombined_V6.pdf ). Our success over the past seven years was featured in Thomas Papenbrock’s opening talk  ( https://indico.phy.anl.go v/event/22/attachments/72/155/ ANL-Townhall-Papenbrock.pdf ) . And support for the Theory Alliance and all its activities was strong across the e...
